Derby v Watford

Match 15 – League.  Saturday 30th October 2010

Watford (H) – Hornets Stung

Derby was looking to get back to winning ways following the defeat at Millwall a week earlier and got off to the perfect start on fourteen minutes, when John Brayford was released and wonderfully put the ball in the far top corner to grab his first goal for the Rams.

The lead was then doubled on thirty-six minutes when Tomasz Cywka’s shot took a huge deflection sending Millwall keeper, Loach, the wrong way.

Derby was playing some lovely football.

Watford grabbed a goal on fifty-five minutes when Whichelow pounced on a through ball to chip Fielding and which suddenly made the crowd at Pride Park very nervous.

However, Derby restored their two-goal lead on sixty-five minutes when Paul Green lifted the ball through for Kuqi to chest the ball down and shoot it home to give him his first goal in a Derby shirt.

The win was made certain when Derby created another wonderful goal, Savage brilliantly putting Cywka in to bend the ball in to the far top corner on eighty-one minutes.

Derby sent their fans home happy again.

 Final score: Win 4 – 1 – “On A Roll Again – Happy Days :-)”
