League v Queens Park Rangers (H) – Added Time Agony
Match 5: Saturday 28th August 2010
Derby returned to Pride Park hoping to collect three points after two good performances, but disappointing results. QPR were the opponents and top of the table.
Derby played superbly and took the lead minutes before half-time after Commons put the ball home after an excellent cross. It was also the first goal QPR had conceded in the league so far this season.
The Rams continued in the same form after the break and were 2-0 up after a lovely finish from James Bailey, his first goal for Derby.
Derby dominated the game throughout but that was about to change in added time. QPR hadn’t caused Derby any problems up until this point.
The fourth official announced FIVE minutes of added time. Patrick Agyemang Decided to run at Barker and the ball somehow trickled past Bywater in the 92nd minute. QPRs’ tails were up and now decided to take the game to Derby and were rewarded deep in to added time when Mackie drove the ball home, just moments before Bailey should have finished QPR off but Paddy Kenny denied him.
Pride Park was left stunned and silent.
Final score: draw 2-2.
