Match 20 – League. Saturday 27th November 2010
Burnley (A) – The Season’s Changed in More Ways than One
The Rams travelled to Turf Moor for an evening kick off knowing that a win would send them third in the table.
The weather had turned into freezing temperatures and snowy conditions (which would last several weeks and badly affect the sporting calendar) and the pitch looked half frozen but didn’t really affect the play.
Derby opened the scoring (19 mins) when Luke Moore’s shot took a sizable deflection and found the net.
However, Derby struggled to continue to take the game to Burnley but continued to lead. They kept the lead until the eighty-first minute, when former Derby player, Tyrone Mears, struck his free kick in to the top corner.
Burnley then took all 3 points when Jack Cork headed home in injury time, leaving the Rams devastated.
Lost 2 -1 – “Sky Match – Just Missed Out On Third Spot”
This result would turn Derby’s season on its head.
