Barnsley v Derby

Match 8:  Saturday 18th September 2010

League v Barnsley (A) – Almost There

Derby slipped into the bottom three following the defeat at Hull City four days earlier and were looking to achieve some form that reflected their performances.

The Rams took an early lead when Dean Leacock (who was terrific throughout) scored from a corner to get his first professional goal.  Derby also scored another goal straight after but it was ruled to be offside.

Derby took the game to Barnsley throughout the game but the hosts equalised three minutes into the second half after an error from John Brayford allowed Adam Hammill to thump the ball home.

Derby created several opportunities but failed to take them and were made to settle for a draw.

Surely, Derby’s luck would change?

Final Score:  draw 1-1
