DCDSC Feb Social Cancelled!

We’ve cancelled tonight’s DCDSC Social Monday 6th February due to safety concerns.

We (committee) made the decision yesterday when there was about six inches of snow everywhere, we were concerned about how our members would get to the meeting, the paths and driveways were all treacherous and the car park at Pride Park was covered too.

It’s “sods law” that all the snow looks to have gone today, although as I’m not sure what the pavements and car parks are like at Pride Park, I think they’ll still be quite tricky tonight, and we’d hate anyone to make the effort to come and then have a prang or fall.

Anyway, I hope you’ll forgive our quick reaction to cancelling, we needed to take the decision early to make sure that we could let people know it was off by email, the website, face-book and Radio Derby (did anyone hear it on there?)

Our next members social night is on Monday 5h March at Pride Park which is the penultimate one for this season (where has the time gone), we’re awaiting confirmation from our guest, but as soon as we’ve heard back we’ll post it all here – so be sure to pop back from time to time.

Till then, keep warm & take care

Tim

First DCDSC Social 2012

The first dcdsc members social of the year takes place this coming Monday January 9th at PP. We’ve had requests to have a “Rams” bingo night so it’ll be “eyes down, look in” to kick the dcdsc socials off in 2012.

You may have noticed (and hopefully read in your newsletter) that the dcdsc socials have been changed back to a Monday night. The first being this coming Monday 9th January 2012, and then the first Monday’s in February, March & April. The April one may change as we’re looking what we can do for our end of season event this year, but we’ll let you know in plenty of time. Look forward to seeing you all on Monday – 🙂

Happy New Year 2012

HappyNew Year to all our DCDSC Members and loyal Rams supporters. What fantastic feast of festive football we’ve had this Christmas & New Year, absolutely brilliant. With a near full strength squad Nigel has proved that he has enough quality in the team to compete with (and beat) the best the Championship has to offer.

A fantastic win against (not very clean) Leeds, followed up with another edge of the seat performance against West Ham (everyone’s pre-season favourites for automatic promotion) , topping it off with a superb away win at Hull City.  A swift 9 points has boosted the Rams league position and they currently sit 9th in the table.

A break in the league sees the Rams take on Crystal Palace in the F.A Cup this coming Saturday, and, with Palace having one eye on the league cup semi they’re playing next week, who says we can’t get another great result. But., here’s the dilemma – would you prefer a win against Palace and progression into the the next round of the F.A Cup or, take an early exit to concentrate on the league ?  (Post a comment below or on our facebook page).

Quick question for you, when was the last time we won 3 consecutive games over the Christmas/New Year period?

Christmas Party Change

As you will have seen from our Face-book page, due to low ticket sales we’ve had to cancel the Christmas Party and change it to a to a Christmas “Fuddle”.

It’s being held on the same night Tuesday 6th December 2011, but will now take place at PP. Because we’ve had to scale down, it is a membersDCDSC Christmas Party & carers only night, plus those that bought tickets to the original party, who are invited too, (if you bought tickets please bring them along to get a refund).

As it’s a fuddle please bring along some nibbles, if you’d like to know what others are bringing (so we don’t get a mountain of sausage rolls 🙂 ) Give Julie (Humble) a call on 07746 561237 or send her an email by clicking on the following link Email Julie Humble Julie can then advise what others are bringing.

Confirmed guests for the evening are Rams Legends, Steve Powell, Marc Edworthy, Author & Journalist Phil Matthews + one or two other special guests too.

UPDATE  – Ex Rams Legend Charlie Palmer also confimred 🙂

Pics.  Show Steve, Marc & Phil.

It’s a shame that the main  party had to be cancelled, but we understand that times are hard and cash is tight, especially at this time of year. But, at the same time we have to celebrate Christmas don’t we? So if you’re a DCDSC member or bought a ticket for the original party (please bring ticket with you)  come along to our “Christmas fuddle”, to meet eat & mingle.

It starts around 8.00pm so arrive from 7.30pm onwards – look forward to seeing you there. 🙂
